The national gallery 

The national gallery is a complex of many galleries in the Czech republic. You may find the right one which corresponds the most with your taste. There is in total 11 of them and one building is even placed in Venice in Italy. It all started at the end of the 18th century when the members of the Czech aristocracy together with some rich burghers decided to uplift the taste of the Czech nation. Prague Zoo

The Prague Zoo was opened in 1931 and is one of the city's biggest attractions. TripAdvisor users have even rated it the fourth most popular zoo in the world. Located in the suburb of Troja just a short drive north of the city center, there are many attractions over 143 acres, especially for families with children. Together with more than 4,800 animals, including many endangered species, the Prague Zoo is remarkable for its role in the rescue of the endangered Przewalski's horse.

Municipal House

The Municipal House is one of the most famous Art Nouveau buildings in Prague. It was built in 1912 on the site of the original residence of the Czech kings. Its interior includes several halls, the largest of which is the Smetana Hall, serving as a concert hall for up to 1,200 listeners. It boasts many distinctive features, such as a beautiful facade, wall paintings and a semi-circular mosaic in the front, based on drawings by Karel Špillar

Clementinum and National Library

Clementinum and National Library - The Clementinum, one of the most important historical buildings in Europe, is home to the National Library of the Czech Republic. These beautiful Baroque buildings were originally part of the Jesuit dormitory. Later, the collections of the Jesuit Book Fund, as well as a collection from Karolina, were added. After the Jesuits were expelled, the library was owned by the state. The library opened for the public in 1782 shortly after being promoted to the National Library. With over six million books, the Clementinum collection is enormous and includes copies of all books published in the Czech Republic. The highlight is the Baroque library with its beautiful ceiling painting, a 68-meter high astronomical tower with a remarkable view of Prague, and a mirror chapel with an extraordinary atmosphere.

Old-New Synagogue

Old-New Synagogue also known as Altneuschul is one of the oldest synagogues in Europe which is still used for ceremonies. The base was build in the 13th century in the gothic style. There are many legends connected to this place. One of them is about Golem, a creature made from clay that was activated by entering a secret kabbalistic password.

Another legend says that stones used for building the synagogue are actually from the original Solomon´s temple in Jerusalem.

Golden Lane

Golden Lane is a beautiful street near Prague castle. The name was given for two reasons which most probably are not true. One of them is saying that it was named after the goldsmiths, which supposedly lived there. However, since it was the poorest part of the city quarter called Hradčany, it is most probably just a myth. The other story says that the houses were occupied by alchemists.

The real facts are saying that the lane was built by the employees of the castle on their own. Anyway, it is a beautiful part of Prague´s rich historical heritage and totally worth to visit this magical place.

Museum of communism

This museum is focused on the communistic era in the Czech republic. The exhibition is divided into parts like politics, art (the social realism), police (including the StB). It is a recent part of Czech history and it definitely worth to visit!
